After many lengthy months, the twins were now with them. Their seemingly long awaited family was now complete (for the time being…), and Anna, for one, couldn’t be happier. Her body was still sore, but the emotions and love for Bree, Ashton, and Benny made up for it, actually far surpassing the negativities of the situation. A few aches and pains were inconsequential; they meant nothing in comparison. Being able to hold them in her arms, feel their actual body heat, hear them breathe, to actually see them was almost overwhelming. They had just brought them home from the hospital earlier in the morning with great delight. Now holding Bree close to her heart, her daughter’s tiny body laying on her chest as she drifted off into sleep, Anna couldn’t think of anywhere else in the world she would rather be. Benny was next to her on their bed, along with Ashton. They were the perfect, young family. Despite their apparent error in timing, it was hard to believe that at this point in their lives, anything else could be expected of them. Looking over at Benny, her heart lurched, as if some strong, godly hand were clenching it tightly. She couldn’t believe that this was her life now. ”They’re all ours, Benny…” Her voice was soft so she didn’t disturb the babies, her grin broad with the love, content, and pure happiness filling her veins.

Benny was without a shirt, in merely sweatpants and some boxers that would be visible from under his sweats if the blanket weren’t there. In his arms was a baby, a baby boy that was his own. His normally aggressive, careless persona seemed to tame day by day, as the due date approached. Now, it was like he was a different guy, but he wasn’t when it came down to it – he had always been better than he was, he just needed a wakeup call. A human being was that wakeup call – no, two human beings, that were once his sperm cells. His love for Anna had grown in a way that he didn’t understand, but it wasn’t necessarily because of the babies. He smiled over at her, holding his baby boy gently, and planting a kiss on his head and then on Anna’s cheek. “They’re so beautiful… I think I know where they get it from.” He said, not minding that his dialogue was incredibly cheesy. He wasn’t the best at giving compliments – in fact, because he was on the dumb side, he didn’t know much about romance. All that mattered was that he tried, though, right?

Leaning against the headboard, Anna was resting comfortably with her brand new daughter slumbering in her arms. She didn’t have the will power to put her daughter down for even a moment, so she just kept her snuggled close, where nothing could snatch her away. No demons could enter this perfect vision. ”You’re sweet… but they really are beautiful. The most beautiful things I have ever seen, easily,” Anna said, grinning over at Benny and Ashton once again. ”I’m in complete shock. I knew that they would be adorable, but this is… insane. Otherworldly, even.” Her love for them was the most shocking, the most intense. Anna had known Benny for her entire life. She loved him, and she knew him better than anyone else. Their brand new family was perfect. This moment was perfect. If Anna could pause any speck of time to relive over and over again, it would be this moment. He was hers, and she was his, and these beautiful babies were theirs – and irrevocable truth of their love. This connection was forever binding them together in such an irreversible way. It was the most intimate tie in the human life – having a child together, let alone two.
